PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Henry Miocic (ranked 3789 p4p, 372 weight class) and Professor Xe (ranked 3205 p4p, 332 weight class). Miocic comes to the cage accompanied by Get out of way Nevas.. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Miocic looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Xe keeps the fight on the outside.

Miocic rushes Xe and presses him up against the cage.
Miocic jumps guard but Xe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Xe chips away with some ground and pound.
Xe not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miocic has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Xe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Miocic can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Xe controls the pace.

Xe chips away with some ground and pound.
Xe advances position into side control!
Xe has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Training Center . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Xe thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Xe scores with a couple of short elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Xe is chipping away with strikes.
Xe cracks Miocic with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Xe immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Miocic is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Xe!
