Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Steel Penn Jr!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Penn Jr gets tackled into the cage by Walker. Walker maintains the clinch.
Penn Jr blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Walker is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Penn Jr is defending well for now.

Penn Jr breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Penn Jr throws an overhand right that lands on Walker's shoulder, as Walker tries to avoid the shot.
Walker feinted with a counter takedown.
Penn Jr connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Brandon Walker has been cut.
A solid leg kick lands there for Penn Jr.
Walker chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Penn Jr can pounce on him.
Walker uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Penn Jr.
Walker looks to throw the jab but Penn Jr is out of range.
Penn Jr feints a counter leg kick.
A slow jab from Penn Jr misses its intended target.
Walker tries to counter with a takedown but Penn Jr is quick to defend against it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Penn Jr pinned against the cage. Penn Jr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Penn Jr throws a big counter head kick but Walker avoids it with no problem.
Penn Jr defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.

Walker has his takedown stuffed
enabling Penn Jr to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Penn Jr gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Walker.
Steel Penn Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Penn Jr feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Walker's calf.
Penn Jr lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Penn Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Penn Jr lands a leg kick that knocks Walker off balance momentarily.
Walker pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Penn Jr fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Walker has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A nice leg kick lands there from Penn Jr.
Walker lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Walker throws a quick inside leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Penn Jr will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Walker swings widly with a right hand
and Walker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Penn Jr takes a jab right on the kisser.
A solid leg kick lands there for Penn Jr.
Walker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Penn Jr sprawls well. Penn Jr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walker gets slowly back to his feet.
Brandon Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Walker swings for the body but Penn Jr moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Penn Jr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Penn Jr looks to throw the jab but Walker is out of range.
Penn Jr bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Walker lands a really nice looking cross but Penn Jr seems unphased.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Penn Jr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Penn Jr misses the jab.
Penn Jr moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Penn Jr, right into the meat.

Walker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Walker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Penn Jr has managed to free his arm - good work.
Penn Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Walker is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Penn Jr is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Brandon Walker!
