Hasani is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Slipknot - Duality. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pal Hasani!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Delgado stuffs the takedown.
Hasani moves to clinch but Delgado breaks away

and Delgado counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Delgado thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Delgado not doing much here.
Delgado missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Delgado postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hasani to stand up.
Hasani wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hasani darts in trying to clinch
and Hasani takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hasani dives in for a single leg takedown but Delgado sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Hasani keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Delgado has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hasani misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Delgado.
Delgado wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hasani has him pressed against the cage.
Hasani scores with a knee to the head.

Delgado pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Nice shot lands for Delgado.

and Delgado counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Delgado.
Sanford Delgado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pal Hasani.
Delgado is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Delgado is stalling in the full guard.

Delgado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Delgado postures up and lands a big shot to Hasani's brow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Delgado is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Delgado missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Hasani manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Hasani putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Delgado in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Hasani looks winded!
Delgado wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hasani has him pressed against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Delgado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hasani tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Delgado manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hasani doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Delgado counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Delgado.
Delgado scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Delgado really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Delgado decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hasani, up you get!
Delgado misses with a body shot.
We've been informed that Hasani has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Pal Hasani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hasani shoots in but no luck this time.

Delgado moves into range and clinches up with Hasani.

Delgado's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hasani tries for a takedown but Delgado circles away easily
and Delgado counters with a one-two to the body.
Delgado scores with a jab to the jaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Delgado counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Hasani!

Delgado has hold of Hasani's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hasani tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Delgado cranks the arm and Hasani screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hasani, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sanford Delgado!
