Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Goncalo Dias (ranked 6335 p4p, 396 weight class) and Popeye Theeh (ranked 4648 p4p, 334 weight class). Popeye Theeh has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Goncalo Dias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Popeye Theeh! The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Theeh manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dias on his heels. He'll look to pass Dias's guard now, I'm sure. Theeh tries to stand but Dias is controlling from the bottom. Dias will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Theeh slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Theeh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dias looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dias looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dias!
Dias working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Theeh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dias. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias swings around for an armbar but Theeh sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dias's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Theeh trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Theeh loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Theeh is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Theeh throws a big elbow that misses. Dias being controlled here, momentarily. Dias is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Theeh controls from within his opponent's guard. Theeh postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dias is trying to control the position but Theeh postures up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Theeh content to stall in guard here. Theeh wants to pass the guard but Dias is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dias is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Theeh postures up.
Theeh is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Theeh wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Theeh swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Dias counters with a lovely straight right hand! Theeh fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dias to the ground. Theeh is now in Dias's guard. Dias trying to control the position.
Theeh not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Dias is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Popeye Theeh dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Theeh misses with a shot to the body and Dias counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Dias tries to sprawl but Theeh drives through with a takedown into half guard. Theeh tries to stand and escape but Dias is controlling the position. Theeh sitting and controlling from the half guard. Dias trying to control here.
Theeh has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Theeh gets a double leg takedown into Dias's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dias is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Theeh lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Theeh is trying to stand up here but Dias is controlling him well. Dias is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dias is keen to just control but Theeh is a slippery customer. Dias is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Dias is looking to advance position but Theeh won't allow it. Popeye Theeh has got the better of the ground game so far. Theeh is pressing down on Dias's left leg trying to get back to full guard. Popeye Theeh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Theeh throws an elbow that misses. Dias uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Theeh's guard. Nice move by Dias!

Theeh pulls Dias in close to his closed guard and prevents Dias from doing any damage or advancing position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Theeh can do anything to dispel that myth. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dias wants to control from the top but Theeh keeps moving.

Dias drops back looking for a leg! Theeh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Theeh manages to kick Dias off! Dias jumps back into Theeh's guard. Dias drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Theeh dives on top into guard.
Dias has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Theeh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Theeh stays in close to Dias's body and controls the position.

Theeh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dias swivels though and keeps the full guard. Theeh sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Theeh looking to pass the guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Theeh. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Theeh wants to stand but Dias is controlling his arm. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dias is looking for a sweep. Dias takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Popeye Theeh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Theeh winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
