Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, John Lennon!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hitman feints and as Lennon raises his hands in defense, Hitman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lennon wants to sweep but no luck.

Lennon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hitman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lennon looking for a guillotine here but Hitman defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lennon is striking but Hitman is not phased and passes to half guard.

Lennon looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hitman slows the pace down in half guard.

Lennon won't allow Hitman to pass to mount.

Hitman wants to control from the top but Lennon keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Lennon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Lennon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lennon wants to pass to mount but Hitman is defending the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hitman is pressing down on Lennon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Lennon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lennon stops Hitman from standing up.

Lennon stands up from Hitman's guard - Lennon perhaps looking for a knockout.
Lennon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hitman paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Hitman gets the takedown into side control.

Hitman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lennon, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Lennon dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lennon shoots in for a double leg but Hitman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hitman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Lennon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hitman working a defensive guard but Lennon passes into half guard.
Hitman has hold of Lennon's hands but Lennon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Lennon seems to be looking for submissions.
Hitman tries to kick Lennon off but Lennon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lennon prevents Hitman from improving his position.

Lennon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hitman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lennon scores with a couple of nice shots.

Lennon is trying to control the action in half guard but Hitman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Lennon seems to be working for a kimura but Hitman defends the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lennon working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hitman's head.
Lennon lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Lennon has gone for a leg lock! Hitman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lennon's guard.

Hitman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lennon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hitman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hitman has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hitman tries to free his leg and advance position but Lennon is retaining full guard.

Lennon is looking for a triangle here but Hitman uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
John Lennon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lennon is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Check out the look on Hitman's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Hitman goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lennon has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hitman but great work by Lennon.
Hitman is not content to let Lennon control the position.

Lennon is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hitman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hitman tries to improve position but can't.

Lennon has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hitman is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lennon yanks on the arm and Hitman is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lennon.
