TWGC 23 (185lbs, D4): Las Vegas Qualifier - Round 1 PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Johnny Leroux (ranked 5988 p4p, 492 weight class) and Hank Hill (ranked 7966 p4p, 561 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Hank Hill was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Johnny Leroux! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Hank Hill! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Hill decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Leroux (0) vs (2) Hill We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Leroux has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hill. Oh but Leroux has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hill goes limp - he's gone! Leroux jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Johnny Leroux! Johnny Leroux decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way. |
