Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diomar Dirksz (ranked 7195 p4p, 626 weight class) and Carter Donovan (ranked 5786 p4p, 595 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Diomar Dirksz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carter Donovan!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donovan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dirksz.
Dirksz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dirksz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Donovan is working away from the top position though.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Donovan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dirksz to the ground. Donovan is now in Dirksz's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Donovan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Dirksz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Donovan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dirksz has Donovan in his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dirksz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Donovan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Donovan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Well Donovan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
