Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caniel Dormier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett misses with a series of wild punches.
Dormier drops down looking for a counter takedown but Howlett sprawls and moves away.
No joy there for Howlett, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dormier blocks the body kick.

Dormier scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Dormier wants to work for an arm triangle but Howlett is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dormier is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Howlett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dormier. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dormier is trying to work for a kimura but Howlett is defending well.

Howlett is defending against the submission attempts here by Dormier.
Howlett wants to get back to his feet.

Howlett makes his way to full guard, as Dormier worked for a kimura.
Dormier wants to pass the guard but Howlett is keeping the position.

Dormier drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Dormier seems to have locked his on tight now - Howlett screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Dormier, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Caniel Dormier!
A pretty intense looking Caniel Dormier took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
