Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Humberto Dasilva (ranked 996 p4p, 122 weight class) and Ronald Wagenknecht (ranked 1192 p4p, 143 weight class). Dasilva comes to the cage accompanied by Ladies and Gentlemen. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wagenknecht tries to clinch but Dasilva moves out of range. Dasilva seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Wagenknecht is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Wagenknecht clinches with his opponent.
Dasilva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Wagenknecht has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Dasilva is fighting off a takedown attempt but Wagenknecht is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dasilva to the mat. Dasilva regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Dasilva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wagenknecht has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Dasilva trying to control the position from guard on top but Wagenknecht is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wagenknecht is pulling down on Dasilva's head to control his posture.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dasilva slips nicely into half guard. Dasilva wants to free his trapped foot but Wagenknecht is holding on for dear life with his legs. Dasilva is working hard here to advance position. Wagenknecht is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Dasilva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Dasilva's back! Dasilva rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
