Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Vivien Noyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edwin Marquez! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marquez fails to land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Marquez. Those never looked like landing. Noyer gets a clinch. Marquez has Noyer pressed against the ropes.
Marquez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Noyer has him pressed against the ropes. Noyer tries a body shot but Marquez blocks it.
Noyer swings wildly with an uppercut but Marquez uses good head movement to avoid it. Marquez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Noyer has clasped his hands together around Marquez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Marquez throws Noyer to one side and escapes! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Noyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marquez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Marquez let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Noyer darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Noyer moves into range and clinches up with Marquez. Marquez struggles to land a body shot inside as Noyer controls his hands.
Marquez creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Marquez tries to land knees in the clinch but Noyer avoids the damage to the body. Noyer jumps guard but Marquez turns him against the ropes and keeps the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Noyer decides to pull guard. Marquez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Marquez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Noyer, up you get! Noyer misses with a takedown and Marquez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Noyer has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vivien Noyer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Noyer shoots in for a takedown. Marquez dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Noyer fails in his attempt to clinch. It seemed like Marquez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Marquez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Jab from Marquez. Noyer throws a nice looking combination but Marquez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Marquez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Noyer. Marquez looks like he wants to counter punch here. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Noyer fails with a takedown attempt. Marquez throws a big counter head kick but Noyer avoids it with no problem. Noyer tries to clinch but Marquez moves out of range. Marquez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Noyer to score an easy takedown into full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marquez wants to stand but Noyer is controlling the position. Noyer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Marquez, up you get! Noyer shoots for a takedown but Marquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Noyer darts in trying to clinch and Marquez counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edwin Marquez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The fight stays on the outside here - Noyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marquez scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Noyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marquez swivels and escapes. A little jabbing left from Marquez on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Marquez throws a nice looking combination but Noyer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Noyer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Marquez kicks off Noyer and gets to his feet. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Noyer fails with the takedown and Marquez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Noyer thinking. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vivien Noyer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Noyer wants to clinch and Marquez counters with a crisp one two that drops Noyer! Marquez thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Noyer to his feet! Noyer is in big trouble!

Noyer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marquez's waist but Marquez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Noyer off to one side. We've been hearing that Noyer has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Marquez is pushing Noyer's head away, looking to escape. Noyer manages to hold on to the position though. Noyer is looking to take a break and control but Marquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Marquez struggling a bit here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marquez is looking to reverse the position.
