Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Michael Blake (ranked 4608 p4p, 453 weight class) and Vinnie Vincent (ranked 7618 p4p, 563 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the welterweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 30 wins and 9 losses; Michael Blake! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 6 losses; Vinnie Vincent!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Blake shoots in looking for a takedown. Vincent tries to sprawl out of it but Blake keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vincent manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Vincent gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Vincent works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

My spies in Lads Lash Banter Gym inform me that Vincent has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Blake's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Blake can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vincent controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vincent got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blake has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vincent has managed to get both his arms back between Blake's legs - danger averted.

Blake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vincent defends well.
Vincent seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Let's hope that Vincent has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Blake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Blake is keen to just control but Vincent is a slippery customer.

Blake wants to free his trapped foot but Vincent is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Blake wants to control but Vincent is keeping him busy.

Blake looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Blake is just content to waste time from the top position. Vincent takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Blake sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Vincent's guard.

Blake passes into side control, despite Vincent's attempt to control the position.

Vincent is looking for a sweep.

Blake looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Blake working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Vincent tries to bench press Blake off him but Blake keeps the position.

Vincent is looking to reverse the position.

Blake is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vincent is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Blake wants to pass the guard but Vincent is defending well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blake slows the pace down in half guard.

Blake takes the fight on points by 7 to 4.
