Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zuhong Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nero Dinero! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Lee. Dinero feints the counter takedown. Dinero drives through and clinches with Lee against the cage.
Lee is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Dinero is keeping busy. Lee looking to slow down the pace here. Lee tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Dinero taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dinero pulls Lee into guard.
Dinero punching from the bottom - just letting Lee know he's still in a fight. Dinero working for a triangle but Lee defends it easily.
Lee working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lee advances to half guard. Dinero is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lee sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dinero defending well though. Dinero is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lee pulls his head out easily. Dinero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lee is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Dinero to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Lee drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dinero looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dinero looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dinero! Lee manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lee passes to full mount! Lee working for a guillotine from mount but Dinero is in no mood to give up. Lee working for a submission but Dinero is keeping him at bay. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lee looking for a guillotine from mount but Dinero is having none of it. Dinero really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dinero tries to hold on but Lee pushes him away. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Lee scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Lee looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dinero regains half guard. Lee seems to be working for a kimura but Dinero defends the submission attempt. Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dinero is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold. Lee lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Lee is working for a submission of some sort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dinero is refusing to be controlled, as Lee sits in half guard. Dinero tries to roll over but Lee keeps him under control. Lee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Lee frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lee jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Dinero is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Dinero and Lee has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zuhong Lee dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Dinero shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lee manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Lee has his feet on Dinero's thighs here. He's pushed Dinero off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dinero screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
