Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shaburi Gunia (ranked 5259 p4p, 0 weight class) and Francisco Villa Jr (ranked 5573 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shaburi Gunia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Francisco Villa Jr!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa Jr scores with a shot to the body.

Gunia throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Villa Jr tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gunia is in Villa Jr's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villa Jr is trying to keep Gunia in close.
Gunia trying to control the position from guard on top but Villa Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Villa Jr holds on and takes a little breather.
Gunia stands and throws Villa Jr's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gunia is looking to take a break and control but Villa Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gunia happy to just control the position for now.

Gunia tries to move to mount but Villa Jr blocks the move with his legs.
Villa Jr wants to control but Gunia postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gunia trying to control the position but Villa Jr is working away.
Gunia sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Villa Jr is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Villa Jr wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Gunia tries to move into full mount but can't pass Villa Jr's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gunia is looking to take a break and control but Villa Jr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gunia misses with a wild combination.
Villa Jr now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunia takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gunia dives in and grabs Villa Jr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Villa Jr pushes down on Gunia's head and hops out.
Francisco Villa Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Villa Jr scores with a punch to the head.
We've been informed that Villa Jr has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Gunia doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Villa Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Shaburi Gunia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunia tries for a takedown but Villa Jr circles away easily
and Villa Jr counters with a nice uppercut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shaburi Gunia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Villa Jr misses with a few strikes there.
Gunia with a lazy takedown attempt
enabling Villa Jr to counter with a crisp jab.
Gunia is breathing heavily.
Gunia moves to clinch but Villa Jr breaks away
and Villa Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Villa Jr scores with a three punch combo!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gunia moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Villa Jr pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gunia back to the cage. Villa Jr follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


Gunia is rocked!
Gunia takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Oh Gunia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gunia walks straight into a right hand from Villa Jr - that's dropped him! Villa Jr jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Gunia from any more punishment! Gunia complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Francisco Villa Jr!
