Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Martin Kawulski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Davey Finnson!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawulski blocks a head kick by Finnson.

Finnson clinches.

Finnson jumps guard and drags Kawulski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Kawulski trying to control the position from guard on top but Finnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Finnson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kawulski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Finnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Finnson is on top in guard.

Finnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Finnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kawulski is trying to control Finnson's posture but Finnson avoids it.
Kawulski is looking to regain half guard here but Finnson keeps moving and retains side control.

Finnson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kawulski to his feet.

Finnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Finnson lands in his opponent's guard.
Kawulski is looking to stand back up but Finnson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kawulski.

Kawulski is looking to control Finnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kawulski avoid being mounted?
Kawulski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Finnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Finnson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Kawulski to stand up.
Kawulski misses with a double jab.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Finnson! But no joy.
Kawulski fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kawulski checks a low kick from Finnson.
Kawulski appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Kawulski shoots in for a double leg but Finnson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Kawulski gets tackled into the cage by Finnson. Finnson maintains the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kawulski shoots in for a takedown but Finnson shows good takedown defense.
Kawulski fails with a takedown attempt.

Kawulski wants to break free but Finnson has control.

Finnson pulls Kawulski in close to his closed guard and prevents Kawulski from doing any damage or advancing position.
Let's hope that Finnson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Kawulski got a little sloppy there for a moment and Finnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kawulski has managed to get both his arms back between Finnson's legs - danger averted.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kawulski tries for a takedown but Finnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kawulski tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Finnson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Finnson is thwarting Kawulski's attempts to control the position.
Finnson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Finnson is looking for a kimura but Kawulski is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Finnson to get the leverage.
Kawulski is trying to stand up here but Finnson is controlling him well.
Finnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Kawulski is looking to improve his position.

Davey Finnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

and Finnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Finnson.
Finnson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Kawulski has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Finnson after a bit of a struggle.

Finnson is adopting a defensive guard.
Finnson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Kawulski won't allow Finnson to sweep him here.
Kawulski wants to pass the guard but Finnson is keeping the position.

Kawulski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Finnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Finnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Finnson wants it to stay on the feet.

Finnson throws a counter combo.

Finnson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Kawulski working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kawulski looking to sit in guard and control but Finnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Finnson wants to stand but Kawulski is controlling his posture from full guard.

Davey Finnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Finnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
