Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Jack (ranked 5287 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Smith (ranked 8189 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jack pushes Smith off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Jack changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but Jack manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith with the counter takedown but Jack avoids it easily.
Smith closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jack did well to prevent Smith getting side control.
Jack pushes Smith off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Jack.
Jack throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Smith tries for a takedown but Jack sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jack drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smith sprawls and moves away.
Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
You can see the frustration on Jack's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Smith lands a few punches from side control.

Jack is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Smith off and has taken his back!
Smith is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Jack shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Jack throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smith counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Smith.
Jack is breathing heavily.
Smith chips away with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith with a nice head shot there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Smith's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Smith working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jack's head.
Jack is rocked!
Smith works over Jack with some ground and pound from guard.
Oh Jack is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Jack's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dan Smith!
