Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Sawyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sawyer comes into the arena with Tom Sawyer by Rush blaring out of the sound system. Jacob Collins has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Thomas Sawyer's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sawyer ducks under a wild hook from Collins. Sawyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Collins misses with a leg kick. Sawyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Sawyer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Collins's head backwards.
It looks like Jacob Collins has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Collins as Sawyer shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Sawyer. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sawyer shoots in but Collins avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sawyer fails with a takedown attempt. Sawyer moves in looking to clinch but Collins pushes him off. Sawyer tries to clinch there but Collins circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Collins feints and then cracks Sawyer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sawyer down. Collins misses with a low kick.
Collins does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Collins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sawyer shoots in and drives through. Collins sprawls well. Thomas Sawyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sawyer shoots for a double leg takedown but Collins sprawls well. He's pushed Sawyer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Collins misses with a double jab.
A bone on bone clash there as Sawyer blocks the leg kick.
Sawyer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Sawyer takes one on the button. Sawyer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A combination from Collins does no damage. Collins dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Nice takedown defense from Collins. No joy for Sawyer on that attempt.

Jacob Collins is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sawyer shoots in for a double leg but Collins sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Collins catches Sawyer napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Sawyer to the canvas!
Sawyer is rocked! Sawyer being controlled here, momentarily. Oh Sawyer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Collins stands up and waves to Sawyer to follow him. Sawyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Collins swivels and escapes. Sawyer seems to have got his legs back now. A combination from Collins does no damage. Sawyer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Collins's waist but Collins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sawyer off to one side. Sawyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Collins tries to sprawl out of it but Sawyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Collins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A clash of legs there as Sawyer blocks the low kick.

Horrible takedown by Sawyer or perhaps it was just good defense by Collins which made him look bad. Collins swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sawyer. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sawyer tries to close the distance and clinch but Collins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Collins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sawyer fails with a takedown attempt. Collins bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Some bone on bone action there as Sawyer checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Sawyer shoots for a takedown but Collins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Collins waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Sawyer. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sawyer to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Collins sitting in guard here, content to control. Collins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Collins is pushing down on Sawyer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sawyer is fighting to maintain full guard but Collins has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's one minute gone in the round. Collins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sawyer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Collins wants to control but Sawyer is keeping him busy. Sawyer manages to get to full guard.
Collins wants to stand but Sawyer is controlling his posture from full guard. Sawyer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Collins's guard. Sawyer landing with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sawyer with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Collins seems keen to control Sawyer's posture. Sawyer postures up in Collins's guard and throws a big left but Collins blocks it. Sawyer prevents Collins from getting back to his feet. Sawyer tries to free his leg and advance position but Collins is retaining full guard. Collins wants to get back to his feet but Sawyer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sawyer forces his way into half guard. Sawyer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Collins with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sawyer tries to pass to full mount but Collins defends it. Sawyer working Collins over with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sawyer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Collins's head. Sawyer is looking to advance position but Collins won't allow it. Collins looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sawyer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sawyer looks for a takedown but Collins sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sawyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sawyer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Sawyer throws a combination that misses and Collins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sawyer. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Collins attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Collins scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Collins closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Sawyer out cold! Sawyer corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
