Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rolland Heath (ranked 25313 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ William (ranked 3359 p4p, 0 weight class). William comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Won't let go kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! JJ William will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rolland Heath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, JJ William!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Heath. Those never looked like landing.
William shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Heath sprawls well. Heath wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. William gets slowly back to his feet.
Heath went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Heath lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

William darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Heath is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Heath is trying to stand.
Heath is refusing to be controlled, as William sits in half guard.
William wants to stand up but Heath is controlling the position.

Heath slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
William stops Heath from standing up.
Heath keeping moving, preventing William from controlling successfully.
William prevents Heath from getting back to his feet.

Heath manages to escape and get back to his feet.

William changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Heath looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

William moves into range and clinches up with Heath.
Heath tries to break the clinch but William is controlling the position.

Heath breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Heath, as that shot connected.
William shoots for a takedown but Heath saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
No luck for William with that takedown attempt.
Rolland Heath has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ William.
Heath misses with a kick to the body.
Heath throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Heath closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into William's guard.
William not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
William has momentary wrist control but Heath slips an elbow through the middle.
Heath scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Heath knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for William on the ground.
Heath throws an elbow that misses. William uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Heath's guard. Nice move by William!

Heath really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

William is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

William would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Heath is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. William presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Heath keeps control of William as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

William blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Heath with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Heath wants to break free but William has control.
Heath lands an elbow inside that William shrugs off.

William manages to break the clinch.
William misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Heath dives in and scores a takedown into William's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
William pushes Heath off and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Heath drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on William's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Heath working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Heath will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Heath rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but William moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Rolland Heath is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Heath feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Heath decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

William darts in and clinches Heath up against the cage.
William tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Heath smiles and moves away.
William gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Heath counters with a left and a right that stings William.

Heath shoots in and bounces William off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

William is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
William manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Heath manages to get himself to full guard.

William takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Heath has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

JJ William has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rolland Heath is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Heath stands up over William, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rolland Heath showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Heath has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
