Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Beamer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Max Power!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Beamer!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beamer throws a right and a left that Power avoids nicely.
Power closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beamer circles away.
Power shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beamer as he jumps to the side.
Beamer lands a really nice looking cross but Power seems unphased.
Beamer misses with a wild body shot.
Jim Beamer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Power bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Power laying and praying for a moment but Beamer takes advantage and regains half guard.
Beamer is trying to stand back up but Power is controlling him
Beamer regains full guard. Nicely done.
Beamer trying to keep a closed guard but Power is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beamer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Power is trying desperately to improve position.

Beamer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Beamer thowing shots but they're missing.
Power is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Power sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Power gets full guard.

Power looking for a guillotine here but Beamer defends easily.
Power is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Power looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Power trying to control the position.
Power keeping moving, preventing Beamer from controlling successfully.

Power looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Beamer passes into side control.
Power is breathing heavily.
Power prevents Beamer from moving into mount.

Beamer trying to control the position but Power is working away.
Power is looking to reverse the position.
Beamer trying to control the action but Power is working from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Beamer stuffs the takedown attempt from Power. Power gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Power. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Power fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beamer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Power is out of range and Beamer settles back down.
Beamer swings for the body but Power moves out of range.
Beamer stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Beamer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Power circles away quickly and effectively.
Power throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beamer's waist but Beamer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Power off to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Power.
Power shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beamer as he jumps to the side.
Beamer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Beamer throws the kick towards the body but Power avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Beamer dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Beamer swinging wilding here.
Power misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beamer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Power sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Beamer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Beamer tries to bum rush Power with a series of wild strikes but Power uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Power throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beamer's waist but Beamer gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Power off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Beamer.
Beamer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Beamer digs a good body shot into Power's ribs.

Beamer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Beamer misses with a kick to the body.
Power fails with the takedown

and Beamer counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Power. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Power escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beamer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Beamer throwing strikes but missing.
Beamer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Beamer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Power's head.
Power is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Power looks to land a strike but Beamer avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Power forces his way into half guard.
Beamer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Power's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Power's back!
Beamer doesn't have the hooks in and Power manages to turn into his guard.
Power won't allow Beamer to sweep him here.
Beamer is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Power accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Beamer looking to control.
Power throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Beamer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Power is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Beamer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Beamer has escaped and now he's on top!
Power controls Beamer momentarily but Beamer frees himself.

Power is looking for a triangle but Beamer pushes his legs off easily.
Power being controlled here, momentarily.
Power keeping moving, preventing Beamer from controlling successfully.
Beamer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Beamer tries for a kimura but Power is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Power is trying to control Beamer's posture but Beamer avoids it.
Power tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beamer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beamer is looking to take a break and control but Power is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Beamer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Beamer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Beamer counters with a straight right hand.
Beamer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Power misses with a takedown
and Beamer counters with a one-two to the body.
Power doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Beamer counters with a left and a right that stings Power.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max Power. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beamer shoots for a double leg takedown but Power sprawls well. He's pushed Beamer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Beamer scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
This has been an exciting period of action!
No joy there for Beamer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
A slow jab from Beamer misses its intended target.

Beamer misses with a double jab.
Power showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Beamer.

Power scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Power is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Beamer knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Power misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Power is trying to get an arm triangle but Beamer is defending well.

Beamer gets back to half guard.

Power is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Power is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Beamer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Power is working away from the top position though.
Beamer is staying active underneath Power, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Power is working for a kimura but Beamer is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Beamer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Beamer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Beamer connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Power has his takedown stuffed
and Beamer cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Beamer fails to land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Power tries for a takedown but Beamer circles away easily
and Beamer makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A right-left combo lands from Beamer.
Beamer scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Beamer looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Power is pressing down on Beamer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Power looking to control.

Beamer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Max Power has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Power keeping moving, preventing Beamer from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jim Beamer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Beamer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
