Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kyle Rad (ranked 9021 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reno Carrera (ranked 6122 p4p, 0 weight class). Carrera has chosen SOAD- Toxicity as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 4 losses; Kyle Rad! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Reno Carrera ! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Carrera tries to keep at a distance but Rad has taken the fight into the clinch. Carrera is trying to drag Rad to the mat but Rad just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Rad jumps guard and drags Carrera to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Rad pulls Carrera in close to prevent any damage. Carrera 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Rad tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carrera wants to control from the top but Rad keeps moving. Carrera has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Carrera trying to pass the guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Rad looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carrera swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carrera looking for a guillotine here but Rad defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rad content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carrera has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rad is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Carrera . Score +3 for passing guard: Rad (5) vs (0) Carrera Carrera is trying to control Rad's posture but Rad avoids it. Carrera tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rad wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rad tries to move to mount but Carrera blocks the move with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carrera is trying to improve his position. Rad happy to just control the position for now. Carrera is trying to control Rad's posture but Rad avoids it. Carrera being controlled for a moment.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Carrera is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rad taking a breather here. Rad really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Rad has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Carrera is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Carrera 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Carrera is looking for a sweep. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
