Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fabrizio Rossi (ranked 23951 p4p, 622 weight class) and Sandee Gorgrip (ranked 4652 p4p, 460 weight class). Sandee Gorgrip has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Fabrizio Rossi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fabrizio Rossi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sandee Gorgrip! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rossi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gorgrip to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gorgrip throws a big elbow that misses. Gorgrip is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Gorgrip stops Rossi from standing up. Gorgrip not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rossi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gorgrip wants to control from the top but Rossi keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gorgrip loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Gorgrip is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rossi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rossi has escaped and now he's on top! Gorgrip tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rossi postures up.
Gorgrip has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gorgrip wriggles free and stands up. Rossi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gorgrip moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Rossi trying to control the position from guard on top but Gorgrip is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gorgrip throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gorgrip doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gorgrip trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Rossi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Gorgrip looking to control.
Gorgrip can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rossi controls the pace. Rossi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gorgrip on the ground. Rossi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gorgrip has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rossi has managed to get both his arms back between Gorgrip's legs - danger averted. Gorgrip keeping moving, preventing Rossi from controlling successfully. Rossi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Gorgrip is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gorgrip has his hands on Rossi's head, controlling the position. Gorgrip controls Rossi momentarily but Rossi frees himself. Rossi is working Gorgrip over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rossi wants to control from the top but Gorgrip keeps moving. Gorgrip doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sandee Gorgrip dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Rossi misses with a double jab.
Gorgrip flicks out a counter leg kick but Rossi steps away. Gorgrip has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Rossi is landing a low percentage of strikes. Rossi dives in and scores a takedown into Gorgrip's guard. Gorgrip looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Rossi is defending well. Gorgrip quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Rossi has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gorgrip celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
