Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between chris cav (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson has chosen Never Can Say Goodbye as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Roy Nelson enters the cage!

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Nelson! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Nelson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Despite being in the dominant position, Roy Nelson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. cav misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Nelson. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. cav can't do much from the bottom here. cav is trying to escape the position but Nelson is controlling the position. Nelson looks gassed! cav is pushing Nelson's head away, looking to escape. Nelson manages to hold on to the position though. Nelson controls the position from side control. Nelson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. cav is looking for a sweep. Nelson controls the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. cav throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Roy Nelson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Nelson stops cav from standing up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. cav wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nelson manages to pass to side control.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in cav's guard. Nelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Nelson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Nelson decides to stand up, so the ref orders cav to his feet. cav goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Nelson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Nelson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. cav throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
