Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Burgundy (ranked 998 p4p, 154 weight class) and Connor MacLeod (ranked 1229 p4p, 186 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
60 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Ron Burgundy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor MacLeod! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burgundy throws a jab when MacLeod was well out of range. MacLeod shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burgundy is trying to defend but MacLeod finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Burgundy tries to kick MacLeod off but MacLeod keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Burgundy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from MacLeod. Burgundy has one foot on MacLeod's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. MacLeod has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Connor MacLeod has been cut. MacLeod closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burgundy to the mat! Burgundy manages to get full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! MacLeod tries to free his leg and advance position but Burgundy is retaining full guard. Burgundy is looking to stand up but MacLeod isn't so interested in that idea. Burgundy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Burgundy keeping moving, preventing MacLeod from controlling successfully. MacLeod won't allow Burgundy to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacLeod looking to sit in guard and control but Burgundy gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Burgundy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Burgundy wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of MacLeod's closed guard. He's half up but MacLeod has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! MacLeod pivots and extends the arm, Burgundy falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by MacLeod! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Connor MacLeod! A relieved looking Connor MacLeod thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
