Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teemu Karjalainen (ranked 757 p4p, 96 weight class) and Chris Karter (ranked 1124 p4p, 140 weight class). Karjalainen comes to the cage accompanied by Sentenced - End of the Road. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teemu Karjalainen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 15 - 2, fighting out of New York, Chris Karter! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Karjalainen delivers a nice body kick. Karter lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Karter misses the jab. Karter pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Karjalainen takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Karjalainen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Karter sees it coming and avoids it easily. Karter cracks Karjalainen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Karjalainen throws a shot from downtown. Karter moves away and avoids it. Karter misses with a body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karjalainen slaps away a takedown attempt from Karter, before circling back to the center of the mat. Karjalainen lands a nice looking body shot.

Karter jabbing away but nothing is landing. Karter walks into a jab. Chris Karter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Karjalainen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Karter throws an overhand right that lands on Karjalainen's shoulder, as Karjalainen tries to avoid the shot. Karjalainen was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Karter throws a leg kick that is checked and Karjalainen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Karter won't be happy with that. Karjalainen lands an elbow. Karter tries to buck Karjalainen off but Karjalainen is having none of it. We've been hearing that Karjalainen has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Karjalainen cracks Karter with an elbow. That is naaassty. You can see the frustration on Karter's face as Karjalainen controls the position. Karter struggling a bit here. This has been an exciting period of action! Karter is looking for a sweep. Karjalainen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Karter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Karjalainen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Karjalainen's back! Karter has the hooks in. Karjalainen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Karter punches the canvas rather than the man. Karjalainen is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karjalainen is working hard here to advance position. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Karter's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Karter misses with punches from the back. Will Karter go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Karter lands an elbow to the side of the head. Karter is trying to stick to Karjalainen's back but Karjalainen is turning into Karter. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Karter's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Karjalainen. Karjalainen throws an elbow that misses. Karter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Karjalainen's guard. Nice move by Karter! Karjalainen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Karjalainen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Karter manages to get himself to full guard.

Teemu Karjalainen dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Karter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Karjalainen swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Karter throws a right and a left that both miss. Karter fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Karjalainen. Karter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Karjalainen doesn't seem bothered though. Karjalainen takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Karter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Karjalainen counters with a nice low kick that buckles Karter's knee momentarily. Karter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Karter fails with an attempt to clinch.

Karter throws a lazy right hand but Karjalainen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Karjalainen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Karjalainen drops down looking for a counter takedown but Karter sprawls and moves away. Karter scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Karjalainen doesn't seem bothered though.

Karter sizes up Karjalainen with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Karter scores with a nice strike. Chris Karter seems to be getting the better of the standup. Karter clobbers Karjalainen with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Karjalainen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Karter dips down and scores with a jab to the body. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Karjalainen checks a leg kick. Karter fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karter looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Karter won't allow Karjalainen to sweep him here. Karter wants to control from the top but Karjalainen keeps moving. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Karter tries to free his leg and advance position but Karjalainen is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karter trying to control the position from guard on top but Karjalainen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Karjalainen wants to sweep but no luck. Chris Karter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

It looks like Chris Karter has been cut. Karter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Karjalainen napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karter wants to control for a moment but Karjalainen uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Karjalainen has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Karter is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karjalainen is pressing down on Karter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Karter stopping the sweep attempt from Karjalainen. Karter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Karjalainen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Karjalainen pulls Karter in close to his closed guard and prevents Karter from doing any damage or advancing position. Karter wants to control from the top but Karjalainen keeps moving. Karjalainen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karjalainen working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Karjalainen makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Karjalainen postures up and lands a big shot to Karter's brow. Karter tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karjalainen trying to control but Karter is working from the bottom. Karjalainen won't allow Karter to sweep him here. Karjalainen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Karjalainen chips away with some ground and pound.

Karjalainen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Teemu Karjalainen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Karter trying to keep a closed guard but Karjalainen is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Karter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karjalainen defends well. Karjalainen won't allow Karter to sweep him here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Karter misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Karter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Karjalainen tries to clinch there but Karter circles away.
Karter throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Karter looks to land a right hand but Karjalainen moved out of range. Karter wants to clinch but Karjalainen slips to the side and Karjalainen counters with a straight right hand. Karjalainen jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that's the end of the fight! Teemu Karjalainen showed his dominance in that final round. I think Karjalainen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
