Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gabriel Pennington! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junkyard Dog! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pennington checks a leg kick. Dog lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Dog scores with a crisp jab that stopped Pennington in his tracks. Some wild striking there from Dog.
Dog stalks Pennington and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pennington's face. Pennington staggers backwards, shaken. Dog works over Pennington's head and body with a nice combination. Dog misses with a two punch combination.
Pennington went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Dog misses with the combination.
Pennington avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Dog throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dog instigates a clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dog misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pennington.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Dog. A short left from Dog. Dog presses Pennington against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Dog has Pennington pushed against the cage. Pennington stalling in the clinch.
Pennington has Dog pushed against the cage. Dog escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dog looks to land a body kick but Pennington moved away. Dog throws a nice looking combination but Pennington bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. As Dog tries to get set, Pennington tries to push him back and clinch up but Dog manages to avoid the attempt. Pennington shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dog napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pennington controlling from side mount. Pennington tries for a kimura but Dog is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dog is looking for a sweep. Dog is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Pennington is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dog has escaped the position, nice work there. Pennington taking a breather here. Pennington working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pennington tries for a kimura but Dog is defending well. Pennington tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pennington has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dog wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Pennington has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Dog's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Dog is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Pennington!
