Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenny Key!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaxson Kane!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Key is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Key is not content to let Kane control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kane decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Kane darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kane decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Key, up you get!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kane defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Key.

Kane lands a big head kick that sends Key tumbling to the mat! Kane takes a step backwards and waves Key back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Key is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Key fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kane sprawls well initially but Key persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Oh Key is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


It looks like Kenny Key has been cut.
Kane regains full guard. Nicely done.
Key seems to have got his legs back now.
Jaxson Kane has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kane has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Key is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Kane wants to free his trapped foot but Key is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Key wants to improve his position but Kane is controlling well.
Kane landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The fighters are battling for position here. Key manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Key wants to sweep but no luck.
Key keeping moving, preventing Kane from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Key misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Key changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kane tries to avoid it but Key manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kane to the ground. Kane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Key gets tackled into the cage by Kane. Kane maintains the clinch.
Key is trying to pull guard but Kane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Key. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kane turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Kane wants to lay and pray for a moment but Key keeps working.
Kane tries to score with some ground and pound. Key controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Key parries the strikes from Kane easily there. Kane is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Key to escape.

Kane wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Key, who protects the arm well.
Key is looking for a sweep.
Key looks to move to half guard but instead Kane has passed into mount! Damn!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kane won't let Key get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Key is squirming around, avoiding Kane's attempts to control the action.
Kane controlling his opponent.
Kane raining down hammerfists from mount.

Kane looking to control but Key is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Key manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Jaxson Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Key's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Kane changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Kane drops Key with a beautiful combination! Key stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kane is looking for the KO!
Key dives in for a single leg takedown but Kane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Kane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kane clinches.

Kane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kane has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Key is trying to keep an underhook but Kane manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kane trying to control the position from guard on top but Key is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Key is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kane's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

You can see the frustration on Key's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kane is chipping away with strikes.
Kane trying to control the action but Key is working from the bottom.

Key is looking to regain half guard here but Kane keeps moving and retains side control.

Kane gets to mount! Key was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Jaxson Kane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
