Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Jagielka! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jagielka throws a big shot that misses. Washington slips a jab from Jagielka. Washington attempts a counter takedown but Jagielka avoids it well and moves away. Washington fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jagielka to the ground. Washington is now in Jagielka's guard. Jagielka keeping moving, preventing Washington from controlling successfully. Jagielka has a closed guard, preventing Washington from standing up. Jagielka tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jagielka keeping moving, preventing Washington from controlling successfully. Jagielka has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Ramirez School Of Excellence. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Washington working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Washington wants to control from the top but Jagielka keeps moving. Jagielka is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Washington accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jagielka is working an open guard so Washington takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Jagielka. Jagielka in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Jagielka working the ground and pound but Washington is defending the strikes. Washington manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Washington gets back to full guard.
Jagielka postures up in Washington 's guard and throws a big left but Washington blocks it. Jagielka chips away with some ground and pound. Jagielka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Washington . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jagielka stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Washington throws up his legs and catches Jagielka in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Jagielka tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Washington ! That came out of nowhere!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Rich Washington !
