Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Joe Bailey (ranked 2253 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Schultz (ranked 20316 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? A momentary lapse in concentration from Bailey enables Schultz to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. That's three minutes gone in the round. Schultz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Bailey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Schultz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's five minutes gone in the round. It looks like Schultz might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Let's hope that Schultz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Schultz looking to pass the guard. Bailey looking for a sweep. Not yet Bailey, not yet. Bailey pulls Schultz in close to prevent any damage. Schultz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Schultz is taking a breather. Bailey says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Schultz is looking to pass Bailey's guard but actually Bailey recovers to full guard. Schultz is stalling in the full guard. Schultz tries to free his leg and advance position but Bailey is retaining full guard.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Bailey is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
