Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvarez (ranked 3302 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aloysius Wiremu (ranked 2746 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiremu comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Billy Joel - The River of Dreams kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aloysius Wiremu!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiremu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wiremu did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control.
Wiremu wants to improve his position but Alvarez is controlling well.
Alvarez decides to stand up.
Alvarez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wiremu avoids it really well and circles away.
Alvarez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Alvarez on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wiremu. Wiremu obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarez scores with a three punch combo!
Wiremu throws an overhand right that lands on Alvarez's shoulder, as Alvarez tries to avoid the shot.
Alvarez fails to land the takedown.
Wiremu swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Wiremu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Alvarez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Wiremu throws a nice outside leg kick.
Wiremu delivers a nice body kick.
Alvarez shoots in looking for a takedown. Wiremu tries to sprawl out of it but Alvarez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wiremu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wiremu throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alvarez on the side of the head.
Wiremu lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Wiremu drops Alvarez with a naaaaasty hook - Alvarez is in real trouble here! Wiremu dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aloysius Wiremu!
Aloysius Wiremu decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
