Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Santos (ranked 5059 p4p, 474 weight class) and Mikael Ruusu (ranked 8022 p4p, 570 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikael Ruusu! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy left from Ruusu finds it's target. Santos looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Santos on the wrong end of a nice hook. Ruusu throws a nice looking combination but Santos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Santos takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Ruusu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Santos is rocked! Santos walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Oh Santos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ruusu closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ruusu creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Santos's defenses. Ruusu lands an elbow that stopped Santos in his tracks for a moment. Ruusu is pushing Santos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Santos tries to break free but Ruusu pushes him back against the cage. Knees to the body from Ruusu.
Santos definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ruusu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ruusu connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Santos's hands. A left lands for Ruusu.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ruusu connects with a nice looking jab.
Santos tries to keep at a distance but Ruusu has taken the fight into the clinch. Ruusu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Ruusu connects with a jab. We've been informed that Ruusu has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ruusu has Santos up against the cage in a clinch.
Ruusu has Santos pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Santos is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Ruusu - that's hurt Santos badly! Oh, another knee lands and Santos is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Santos doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Mikael Ruusu!
