Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Burt Shaffer (ranked 5328 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mat Martial (ranked 4830 p4p, 0 weight class). Mat Martial has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Burt Shaffer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Burt Shaffer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mat Martial! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaffer tries to keep at a distance but Martial has taken the fight into the clinch. Martial wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Martial dodges an elbow strike from Shaffer.
Shaffer tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Shaffer goes for a takedown attempt but Martial pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Martial misses with a looping right. Shaffer lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Shaffer defending well as Martial loads up on a big left hand. Shaffer moves to clinch but Martial breaks away enabling Martial to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Burt Shaffer has been cut. Shaffer drives through with a takedown into guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martial working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shaffer. Shaffer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaffer wants to control from the top but Martial keeps moving. Shaffer wants to stand and escape but instead Martial has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Martial wants to stand but Shaffer has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Martial won't allow Shaffer to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Shaffer wants to get back to his feet but Martial passes into half guard.
Shaffer looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shaffer is controlling Martial's trapped leg to prevent Martial from advancing to side control. Shaffer is trying to control but can't.
Shaffer moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Martial stands and steps away. Shaffer gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Shaffer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Martial paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shaffer closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Martial quickly recovers to half guard. Shaffer looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaffer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Martial has managed to free his arm - good work. Martial keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shaffer sitting and controlling from the half guard. Martial is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Martial has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Shaffer is on him like a limpet, forcing Martial back against the cage. Shaffer is trying to force a seperation but Martial has the dominant position. Shaffer drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Shaffer manages to break the clinch.
Martial moves into range and connects with a jab. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Martial moves into the clinch. Shaffer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Martial moves into range and clinches up with Shaffer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mat Martial dominated that round. The cut man is working on Burt Shaffer's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Martial throws a hook to the side of Shaffer's head but Shaffer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Shaffer tries a low kick but Martial avoids it. Martial misses with a straight right. Shaffer throws a counter high kick but Martial was just alert enough to avoid it. BOOM! Martial lands a beautiful left hook that drops Shaffer. Shaffer tries to recover but Martial is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Shaffer lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mat Martial! A less than humble Mat Martial misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
