Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean slaps away a takedown attempt from Gottfried, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gottfried should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Gottfried misses with a wild combination.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gottfried is defended easily by Dean.
Dean is looking for a counter combo.

It looked like Dean was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

As Gottfried looks to move away, Dean throws a big counter combo but Gottfried just gets out of the way.

Gottfried darts in and clinches Dean up against the cage.

Gottfried is pressed up against the cage. Dean has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gottfried down to the mat. Gottfried avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Gottfried ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gottfried no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gottfried working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dean doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dean manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dean accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close round but I would say that Samuel Dean will probably get the nod.

Gottfried wants the takedown. Dean is fighting it off but Gottfried persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dean's guard against the cage.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dean, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
