Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Ribeiro (ranked 5331 p4p, 540 weight class) and Shinya Aoki (ranked 5390 p4p, 491 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shinya Aoki!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro tries to move into range but Aoki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Aoki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Aoki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ribeiro is trying to defend but Aoki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ribeiro tries to get to full guard but Aoki has control of the leg.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marcus Ribeiro will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcus Ribeiro.
