The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez misses with a takedown attempt
and Wilson counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Nice body punch from Wilson.
Gomez tries to pull guard but Wilson won't allow it.
Gomez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Wilson prevents it.
Sam Wilson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Gomez.
A right hook to the body lands for Wilson.

Wilson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gomez backwards.
Wilson tightens his grip and picks Gomez up, before dumping him to the ground. Gomez manages to land in guard.
Gomez is wriggling around but Wilson manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Wilson lands a nice short elbow.
Wilson is controlling the pace.

Wilson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Wilson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Wilson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Wilson lands with some strikes.
Wilson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Wilson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Gomez to take his back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Wilson has Gomez flattened out and is raining down punches.
Gomez is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Wilson off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Wilson just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

No joy there for Wilson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wilson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gomez shoots in but Wilson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wilson scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Wilson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wilson has Gomez up against the cage in a clinch.
A short body shot lands from Wilson as the two fighters clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Wilson.
Gomez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wilson walks away with a smile on his face. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
Wilson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Gomez slips a jab and a cross from Wilson.

Gomez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Wilson cracks Gomez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Wilson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Wilson lands with a big left! Gomez is wobbled badly! Wilson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Gomez to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sam Wilson!
