The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barter avoids the body shot from Winnfield.
Barter takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Barter 's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Winnfield drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Barter gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Winnfield connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Barter throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Barter has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Winnfield regains guard immediately.

Barter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Winnfield postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Barter is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Winnfield, into his guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Winnfield wants to lay and pray for a moment but Barter keeps working.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Winnfield changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Winnfield is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Barter still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Barter has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Winnfield is on top in guard.

Winnfield sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Barter 's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barter can do anything to dispel that myth.
Winnfield passes to full mount!
Winnfield thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

I would just about give that final round to Richard Barter .
I think Barter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
