The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Farias sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Farias tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Leonard enables Farias to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Leonard manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Farias drops back, looking for a kneebar! Leonard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Leonard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Leonard!

Farias is trying to control Leonard's posture but Leonard avoids it.

Farias turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Farias manages to end up in side control.

Farias goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Leonard rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Farias's guard! Nice work there by Leonard!
Leonard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
