PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamakin Me (ranked 8121 p4p, 582 weight class) and Wrestle McWrestle (ranked 7124 p4p, 548 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Me scores with the left hand. McWrestle knows he should have avoided that one. Me scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. McWrestle shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Me napping and manages to drive through into side control! McWrestle works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Me has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. McWrestle throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Me being controlled for a moment. McWrestle tries for a kimura but Me is defending well. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McWrestle taking a breather here. McWrestle tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. McWrestle is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. McWrestle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McWrestle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. McWrestle is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Me has escaped the position, nice work there. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. McWrestle is working to tighten his grip on Me's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Me has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but McWrestle is really squeezing tight and eventually Me passes out! McWrestle breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Wrestle McWrestle! The defeated Jamakin Me had this to say: 'Oops.'.
