Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Harris (ranked 6003 p4p, 510 weight class) and Bryan Callen (ranked 4847 p4p, 463 weight class). Callen has chosen Gummo as his entrance music. The key to victory for Marcus Harris has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bryan Callen!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Harris trying to control the action but Callen is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Callen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Harris is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Callen has escaped the position, nice work there.
Callen gets back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Callen tries to get to full guard but Harris has control of the leg.
Callen is not content to let Harris control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Callen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Callen tries to kick Harris off but Harris keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Callen is looking for a sweep. Harris is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harris throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Callen to regain full guard.
Callen wants to sweep but no luck.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Harris accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Harris shoots in for a double leg but Callen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Harris gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Callen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Callen is in close to Harris's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Callen postures up and lands a big shot to Harris's brow.
Callen lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Callen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Callen distracts Harris with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Harris looking for a sweep. Not yet Harris, not yet.
Callen is working Harris over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Callen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Callen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Callen prevents Harris from getting back to his feet.
Harris is striking but Callen is not phased and passes to half guard.
Callen scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Callen lands strikes from half guard.
Callen content to control rather than advance.
Callen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Callen seems to be working for a kimura but Harris defends the submission attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Callen connects with a nice short shot to Harris's temple.
Callen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Callen drops an elbow to the side of Harris's head.
Callen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan Callen dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Harris darts in looking for a takedown but Callen gets double underhooks and turns Harris into the cage.

Callen dives in and scores a takedown into Harris's guard.
Bryan Callen has got the better of the ground game so far.

Harris doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Callen has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Harris is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Callen scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harris can't keep his opponent in guard - Callen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Harris moves into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Callen content to stall in guard here.
Callen tries to free his leg and advance position but Harris is retaining full guard.
Callen controls from within his opponent's guard.

Callen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harris has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Callen has managed to get both his arms back between Harris's legs - danger averted.

Callen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Harris takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Harris is working to avoid the ground and pound but Callen connects with a decent elbow.


Harris is rocked!
Callen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Oh Harris is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Callen scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Harris is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Callen can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bryan Callen!
Bryan Callen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
