PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nivaldo Farias (ranked 5885 p4p, 502 weight class) and King Wong (ranked 5973 p4p, 508 weight class). Wong is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Aloe Blacc - The Man. On his way into the cage it seems that Nivaldo Farias has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nivaldo Farias seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farias keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wong.
Farias shoots and misses
letting Wong counter with a right hand.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Farias.
Wong lands with a straight right. Farias didn't see that one coming.
Farias goes for a double leg but Wong avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wong continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nivaldo Farias. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wong moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Wong throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Farias seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Wong might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Wong tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Farias is able to avoid easily.

enabling Wong to counter with a crisp jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wong throws a lazy right hand but Farias sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Wong takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Farias is rocked!
Wong drops Farias with a straight right hand, right on the button! Wong follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). King Wong!
A relieved looking King Wong thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
