Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcos Martinez (ranked 17576 p4p, 646 weight class) and Charles Cooper (ranked 4148 p4p, 446 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cooper's choice of entrance music: s.mouse - slap my elbow. This should be fireworks!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 39 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Cooper!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper closes the distance and pushes Martinez back into the cage.
Cooper misses with some punches.

Martinez tries to pull guard but Cooper won't allow it.

Martinez has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cooper uses from the top position.

Cooper's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Martinez wants to finish this one by submission but Cooper is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Martinez.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Martinez has control of Cooper's left arm, preventing Cooper from doing any damage.

Martinez has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cooper is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Martinez.

Charles Cooper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
