Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mujahid Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Horowich! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson misses with a low kick. Horowich with the counter takedown but Jackson avoids it easily. Jackson looks to land a combination. Horowich sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Mark Horowich has been cut. Horowich closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Horowich throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Horowich off to one side. Horowich moves away from the strike by Jackson. A low kick from Jackson misses and Horowich counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard. Horowich stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jackson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Horowich is pushing down on Jackson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jackson is fighting to maintain full guard but Horowich has managed to sneak the leg through. Horowich trying to mount his opponent but Jackson defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horowich prevents Jackson from improving his position. Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Horowich pulls his head out easily. Horowich wants to work for an arm triangle but Jackson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Horowich is looking for a kimura here.
