Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nikos Giannopoulos (ranked 970 p4p, 148 weight class) and Pacer Dalton (ranked 1663 p4p, 257 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nikos Giannopoulos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pacer Dalton!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Giannopoulos does it's job there.


It looks like Pacer Dalton has been cut.
Giannopoulos thuds a left hand into Dalton's body.

Dalton is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Giannopoulos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dalton defends well.
Dalton is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Giannopoulos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dalton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dalton stands and throws Giannopoulos's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dalton remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Giannopoulos is staying active underneath Dalton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Giannopoulos is trying to get back to full guard.
Giannopoulos moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Dalton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Giannopoulos is keeping the position for now.
Dalton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dalton passes Giannopoulos's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Dalton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Giannopoulos is looking to improve his position.

That's time! Giannopoulos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Pacer Dalton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Giannopoulos throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dalton looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Giannopoulos is fending him off so far but Dalton persists. Nope, Giannopoulos circles away and we're back to standing.
Dalton takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Giannopoulos counters with a low kick, right behind Dalton 's knee.
Nikos Giannopoulos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pacer Dalton.
Giannopoulos lands a nice looking body shot.
Dalton shoots in but Giannopoulos avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Dalton takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Dalton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A solid body kick from Giannopoulos.
Giannopoulos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Dalton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Pacer Dalton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dalton is breathing heavily.

Dalton takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Giannopoulos connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dalton misses with a takedown
and Giannopoulos counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A thudding body kick lands there by Giannopoulos!
Giannopoulos punishes Dalton's body with a nice straight punch.
Giannopoulos is looking to slow Dalton down with leg kicks.

Giannopoulos drops Dalton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dalton looks back up at him and smiles so Giannopoulos waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Dalton is rocked!


That has opened up Pacer Dalton's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Giannopoulos walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Dalton drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Giannopoulos swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Dalton's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikos Giannopoulos!
Nikos Giannopoulos decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
