Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Irvin (ranked 2818 p4p, 303 weight class) and Victor Mordino (ranked 3026 p4p, 322 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Irvin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Victor Mordino! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mordino dives in for a single leg takedown but Irvin sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Mordino shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Irvin napping and manages to drive through into side control! Irvin is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Spartans Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Irvin can't do much from the bottom here. Irvin is looking to reverse the position. Irvin is working hard here to advance position. Irvin is not content to let Mordino control the position. Irvin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Irvin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Irvin is looking for a sweep. Mordino wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Irvin, who protects the arm well. Mordino happy to just control the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mordino moves into full mount! Irvin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Irvin is squirming around, avoiding Mordino's attempts to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mordino prevents Irvin from getting the reversal. Irvin regains half guard. Mordino is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Irvin is just riding it out for now. Mordino eventually gives up the hold. Mordino is just content to waste time from the top position. Irvin takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Irvin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Mordino trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Irvin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mordino is aware though and is defending well. Irvin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mordino doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Irvin is tightening it up a little... Mordino has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Mordino reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Mordino taps out! Nice BJJ there by Irvin!
