Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Maynard (ranked 24661 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Oliver (ranked 5994 p4p, 0 weight class). Christopher Oliver will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Christopher Oliver!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliver manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Maynard on his heels. He'll look to pass Maynard's guard now, I'm sure.
Oliver has gone for a leg lock! Maynard slips out almost immediately though and dives into Oliver's guard.
Maynard throws a big right hand that misses.
Oliver seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Oliver working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maynard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maynard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Oliver is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maynard is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oliver bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maynard's guard.
Oliver not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Oliver wants to get up but he can't break Maynard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Oliver makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Oliver has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Maynard is proving hard to escape from.
Oliver got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maynard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Oliver has managed to get both his arms back between Maynard's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maynard wants to get back to full guard.
Maynard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Oliver takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Oliver lands a nice short elbow.
Maynard wants to control but Oliver is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Oliver frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Oliver is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Oliver moves to the back position.
Oliver throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Maynard!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oliver controlling the position well here. Maynard rolled but Oliver kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Oliver is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Maynard is defending well though. Oliver let's go of the attempt for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Oliver is looking to stand but Maynard has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

In his post fight interview, Christopher Oliver started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
