Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joey Workman (ranked 24762 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimbob McGee (ranked 25416 p4p, 0 weight class). McGee is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: AC/DC Thunderstruck. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jimbob McGee enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Workman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jimbob McGee! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGee fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Workman changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Workman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Workman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McGee. Workman tries to counter by clinching up but McGee breaks away and moves out of range. McGee shoots for a takedown but Workman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Workman attempts a counter takedown but McGee avoids it well and moves away. Joey Workman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimbob McGee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Workman was well out of range. Poor timing from McGee. McGee looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Workman controlling McGee's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Workman wants to stand but McGee is controlling the position. McGee is fighting to break Workman's control of his arms but Workman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Workman wants to stand up but McGee is controlling him. Workman has McGee pulled in close to control his posture. McGee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Workman shoots in for a double leg but McGee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. McGee gets a clinch. Workman leaning his opponent against the cage. Workman tries to throw a body punch but McGee avoids it by throwing Workman back against the cage. Workman tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Workman pulls McGee into guard.
McGee prevents Workman from getting back to his feet. McGee trying to control but Workman is working from the bottom. Workman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and McGee dives into side control.
McGee throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Workman keeps McGee under control for a moment. Workman continues to stall. Workman tries to bench press McGee off him but McGee keeps the position. McGee is looking to take a break and control but Workman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Workman is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McGee has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McGee is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Workman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. McGee is trying to get an arm triangle but Workman is defending well. Workman manages to work his way to half guard, despite McGee's best efforts. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Workman trying to control but McGee postures up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimbob McGee dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
McGee misses with a few strikes there.
McGee swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Workman counters with a single leg into guard. McGee didn't expect that. McGee wriggles free and stands up. McGee moves into the clinch successfully.
Workman wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. McGee is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Workman to keep the fight standing. Come on Workman - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Workman pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Workman wants to sweep here but McGee controlling him for the moment. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McGee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Workman has control of McGee's left arm, preventing McGee from doing any damage. Workman keeping moving, preventing McGee from controlling successfully. Workman wants to stand but McGee is controlling the position. Jimbob McGee has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Workman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. McGee instigates a clinch. Workman manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Workman wants to stand up but McGee is controlling him. Workman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Workman digs a right hand into McGee's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on McGee's gas tank. Workman breaks from the clinch.
McGee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Workman counters into the clinch. Nicely done. McGee misses with a hook to the ribs.
McGee is pressed up against the cage. Workman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag McGee down to the mat. McGee avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Jimbob McGee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGee forces Workman back against the cage and clinches. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Workman as McGee tries to tie him up. Workman manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Workman is looking to break free of the clinch but McGee has double underhooks. Workman leaning against his opponent.
McGee has hold of one of Workman's legs. Workman is fighting the takedown attempt but McGee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Workman is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Workman wants to stand but McGee is controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGee trying to control but Workman is working from the bottom. Workman is pulling down on McGee's head to control his posture. Workman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Workman keeping moving, preventing McGee from controlling successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Workman pulls McGee in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Joey Workman will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Workman gets a takedown into half guard. McGee kicks off Workman and gets to his feet. Workman closes the distance and clinches up with McGee, looking for a takedown. Workman pushes McGee against the cage but McGee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The fight moves into the clinch position. Workman tries to land knees in the clinch but McGee avoids the damage to the body. McGee pulls Workman into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Workman would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Workman drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Workman as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! McGee screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Workman! Nice submission victory there!
