Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between damien cook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen My Life (Remix) as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, damien cook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Jones!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by cook.
cook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
cook looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
cook working away.
Jones is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite cook's best efforts.
cook is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
cook is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
cook stuffs the takedown.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.

cook looking for a sweep. Not yet cook, not yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jones is looking to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Jones wants to clinch up but cook keeps it at a distance.

That was a close round but I would say that damien cook will probably get the nod.

Jones shoots in for a takedown but cook shows good takedown defense.

Jones can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as cook is looking to escape.
cook tries to hold on but Jones postures up.

cook is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Jones prevents cook from getting the reversal.
Jones unloads with some shots from mount but cook bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
cook flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
cook is working to get back to half guard.
Jones avoids the attempt from cook to control.
cook tries to improve his position but instead Jones has taken his back!
Jones should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Jones doesn't have the hooks in and cook manages to turn into his guard.
cook trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
cook misses with a double jab

and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones.

cook wriggles free and stands up.
damien cook is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and cook counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jones!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones is controlling cook's position as best he can from this difficult position.
cook is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A close second round but Marcus Jones will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



cook feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones is pulling down on cook's head. It's preventing any offense from cook, at least for the moment.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jones is looking for a triangle but cook pushes his legs off easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
cook controlling from the top position.
cook pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. cook didn't expect that.
cook can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.

cook trying to keep a closed guard but Jones is proving a slippery customer.
cook is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
cook wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Marcus Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
