The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Irwin moves into range and clinches up with Tupper.

Tupper has Irwin pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tupper pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Irwin tumbling to the mat - Tupper dives into Irwin's guard.

Irwin keeping moving, preventing Tupper from controlling successfully.
Irwin has control of Tupper's left arm, preventing Tupper from doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've been hearing good reports from Tupper's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tupper drops back looking for a leg! Irwin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Irwin manages to kick Tupper off! Tupper jumps back into Irwin's guard.

Tupper is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Tupper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Irwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tupper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Tupper is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Irwin has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tupper in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Irwin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tupper!
