Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Gonzales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayden Fuego (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gonzales might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Himno Nacional Mexicano. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Enrique Gonzales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jayden Fuego!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuego changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gonzales tries to avoid it but Fuego manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gonzales to the ground. Gonzales escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fuego moves out of range of the strikes.
Gonzales shoots and misses
and Fuego counters with a head kick. That will keep Gonzales thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Fuego scores a takedown into full mount!

Fuego looking to secure an arm triangle but Gonzales defends it well.

Fuego with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gonzales is wriggling around trying to escape.
Gonzales regains half guard.

Fuego is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Gonzales has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gonzales moves into full guard.
Fuego looking to pass the guard.
Gonzales is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gonzales is working hard here to advance position.

Gonzales looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fuego thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Fuego drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fuego jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fuego looks gassed!
Gonzales tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuego stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gonzales swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fuego thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fuego must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gonzales manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fuego manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Gonzales decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fuego, up you get!
Gonzales shoots in but no luck this time.
Gonzales lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Gonzales misses with a body shot

and Fuego counters with a shoot takedown. Gonzales fights it but they end up in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fuego stopping the sweep attempt from Gonzales.

Fuego drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fuego jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fuego is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Gonzales is looking for a triangle but Fuego pushes his legs off easily.

Gonzales has his foot on Fuego's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fuego works his way back into a safe position though.

Fuego drops back looking for a leg! Gonzales is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gonzales manages to kick Fuego off! Fuego jumps back into Gonzales's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gonzales is on top in guard.
Gonzales postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Fuego is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gonzales is pushing down on Fuego's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fuego is fighting to maintain full guard but Gonzales has managed to sneak the leg through.

Fuego actively working from the bottom here.
Fuego tries to roll over but Gonzales keeps him under control.
Gonzales working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Gonzales is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gonzales seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Fuego is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
