Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane MacGowan (ranked 188 p4p, 26 weight class) and William Snowdon (ranked 234 p4p, 36 weight class). MacGowan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Pogues - Streams of Whiskey. William Snowdon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacGowan lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Snowdon just misses with a punch to the body.
MacGowan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Snowdon throws a hook but MacGowan blocks it.
MacGowan throws a lazy right hand but Snowdon sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Snowdon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Snowdon punishes MacGowan's body with a nice straight punch.

MacGowan doesn't manage to clinch there - Snowdon circles away.
Snowdon thuds his right hand into MacGowan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Snowdon throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

MacGowan throws a hook but Snowdon avoids it easily.
Snowdon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Snowdon bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

MacGowan throws an overhand right that lands on Snowdon's shoulder, as Snowdon tries to avoid the shot.

Snowdon feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits MacGowans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

It looked like MacGowan was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Snowdon.

A looping hook to the body misses from MacGowan. Snowdon does a little dance to reset his feet.
Snowdon paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Snowdon shoots in for a takedown but MacGowan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Snowdon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Snowdon slips nicely into half guard.
MacGowan wants to improve his position but Snowdon is controlling well.
MacGowan is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Fenrir MMA that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

The fighters are battling for position here. MacGowan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Snowdon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MacGowan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
MacGowan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Snowdon stands and throws MacGowan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
MacGowan is not content to let Snowdon control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snowdon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but MacGowan is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
MacGowan gets back to half guard.

Snowdon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. MacGowan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Snowdon.
MacGowan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Snowdon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! MacGowan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! MacGowan has escaped and now he's on top!
MacGowan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Snowdon's head.
