11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rubens Charles! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fidnhasieunch fails to land the takedown. Fidnhasieunch gets a double leg takedown into Charles's guard. Fidnhasieunch is looking to advance position but Charles has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Charles controlling from mount. I've been told that Charles has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fidnhasieunch tries to reverse the position but Charles maintains control. Charles controlling from the full mount.

Fidnhasieunch looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Charles with a short hammerfist. Charles shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Fidnhasieunch napping and manages to drive through into side control! Fidnhasieunch manages to get back to half guard. Charles regains full guard. Nicely done. Fidnhasieunch postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Fidnhasieunch throws an elbow that misses. Charles uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Fidnhasieunch's guard. Nice move by Charles! Fidnhasieunch controls Charles momentarily but Charles frees himself. Fidnhasieunch looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Charles passes into side control.

Fidnhasieunch tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! William Fidnhasieunch overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Fidnhasieunch is looking to get to half guard. Rubens Charles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Fidnhasieunch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Charles tries to bench press Fidnhasieunch off him but Fidnhasieunch keeps the position. Charles is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Fidnhasieunch takes a little break here. Charles wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Fidnhasieunch misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Fidnhasieunch connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Charles some visible discomfort.

Charles moves nicely into side control. Charles taking a breather here. Charles's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that's the end of the fight! Rubens Charles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Charles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
