Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benjamin Kueller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, William Chandler!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kueller misses with a body kick.
Kueller throws a right and a left that Chandler avoids nicely.
Chandler lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kueller's sensitive parts.
We've been hearing reports that Kueller has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Chandler jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Chandler misses with a lunging right hand
and Kueller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like William Chandler has been cut.
Chandler looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Kueller throws a big counter combination but Chandler scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kueller fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
We've been informed that Chandler has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Chandler throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Chandler scores with a hook to the body. Kueller takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Chandler lands with a nice body kick.
Kueller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chandler avoids it really well and circles away.
Kueller connects with a single shot there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Chandler lands a right hook to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Chandler lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kueller at a distance.
Kueller is breathing heavily.
Kueller takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Chandler bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kueller's head backwards.
Nice body kick from Chandler.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Chandler, as that shot connected.
Chandler uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kueller has time to react.
William Chandler is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kueller looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Kueller is rocked!
Kueller gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Chandler points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Kueller wakes up just in time to hear Chandler thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). William Chandler!
William Chandler gave a mention to Sully's Bar & Grill in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
